
Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- In a small bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla, beating well after each addition.
- Gradually beat in flour mixture.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Drop by rounded tablespoons onto baking sheets.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes, then move to wire racks.
Notes
These cookies stay fresh in an airtight container for up to 5 days. The dough can be frozen for up to 3 months.
